The Hustler Casino in Los Angeles is rewarding its most loyal poker players with a $50,000 freeroll tournament.

HUSTLER CASINO 1000 West Redondo Beach Blvd. Gardena, CA 90247 310-719-9800. Hustlers and golf-playing poker pros of today still rely on the ideas of Thompson when it comes to crazy side-bets on the golf course. As Doyle Brunson once said about him: “If Johnny Moss was the typical golf-playing poker pro, then Titanic Thompson was the archetype of the poker-playing golf hustler.”.

Hustler Casino is the heartbeat of gaming in LA, specializing in classic poker games and California games. Open 24/7, 365 days a year, there's endless action-packed gaming for you to enjoy including Blackjack, Baccarat, Texas Hold'em, Three Card Poker, Pai Gow Poker, Pai Gow Tiles and more! Joe and MaryEllen LoGuidice, owners of Hustler and long time friends of the Dematteo family, agreed that the new 50 Monster “Wild Trips “would be their next custom build. But first certain criteria had to be met before the first drop of gel- coat would leave the gun.

Before I get any flak from the resident nutcase, I am talking about POKER and GAMBLING, which is what this newsgroup is SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT!
Playing Poker for a living is unique undertaking. I am not talking about the person that plays pokers wins, and thinks they are a professional, or the player that plays a lot even may win a lot, and think they are a professional too. A professional at something is all that one does, and they do it for a living. My example of the LION in the JUNGLE oppose to the LION in the ZOO.
The LION in the JUNGLE has to be bad, mean, and get the job done or he and his family will not survive! Simple as that! Whereas, the LION in the ZOO, can act, talk and pretend they are bad, but either way, they will survive, because their existence doesn't depend on whether the LION can provide the necessary things for survival.
Same for the Poker Hustler, one that plays poker for a living is a DIFFERENT ANIMAL than the one that plays but have other means of support! People that play poker for a living go at it a whole different perspective, it is not for fun, enjoyment and/or to pick up a few extra dollars! Often this perspective is not seen by others who are not poker professionals!!
In the movie 'The Cincinnati Kid', was close, but Edward G Robinson should have been able to see the 'shooter' dealing out hands! Steve McQueen saw it right away, if Edward G Robinson was that naive to allow a person to shoot hands on him, no way, he should have been presented as a professional! In addition, professionals are mostly the only ones that can detect other professionals (Poker Hustlers).
Proof of that, should be in the casino's security, the high level people they employ to catch cheats, IMO, 8 out of 10 were hustlers themselves!! The Poker Hustler has to be shrewd and good! He/she has to be able to mingle among the ordinary players and not be taken for a professional! How would you all feel playing with people that you know ONLY PLAYED POKER FOR A LIVING?? Not even talking about cheating, just people that played poker for a living!!
Then you add the 'card mechanic' to the mix, and you got almost a unbeatable combination going!! No, this combo wouldn't fly at casinos, and really high level gambling joints, although some highly skilled poker hustlers have went after casinos and high level games and won! The poker hustler mainly stayed with PRIVATE GAMES. The security and detection guards at private games are not on the high level found at casinos and high level gambling joints!!
How many in this newsgroup besides myself, played poker for a living, or can really call themselves a Poker Hustler?
Cheers,
James
